Expert Siding Replacement in Happy Valley, Oregon

Replacing siding in Happy Valley requires more than choosing a color and siding profile. The exterior of your home is a system, and every component needs to work together to help manage the rain and moisture common throughout the Portland metro area.

At Elite Home Exteriors NW, our professional siding replacement services can include removal of the existing siding, inspection of the underlying wall assembly, repair of damaged materials as necessary, installation of a modern weather-resistant barrier and flashing system, new siding and trim, and professional exterior painting when required.

We replace many types of aging and failing siding, including:

Engineered wood siding
Cedar siding
Vinyl siding
Aluminum siding
Stucco and synthetic stucco/EIFS
Older or improperly installed fiber cement siding

When the goal is a long-term exterior upgrade, we frequently recommend James Hardie® fiber cement siding for Happy Valley homes.

Common Siding Problems on Happy Valley Homes

Happy Valley’s Pacific Northwest climate can expose weaknesses in an exterior wall system over time.

Frequent rain and extended periods of moisture make proper siding installation, flashing and water management especially important.

Some warning signs that may indicate it is time to consider siding replacement include:

Swollen or deteriorating engineered wood siding
Soft or rotting wood siding
Cracked or damaged siding
Loose siding
Peeling or repeatedly failing exterior paint
Open siding joints
Deteriorated trim around windows and doors
Water staining
Rot around windows or penetrations
Improper or missing flashing
Visible deterioration near siding-to-roof transitions
Previous siding installation problems

Sometimes the most important damage isn’t visible until the existing siding is removed.

That’s why we approach siding replacement as a building-envelope project, not simply a cosmetic upgrade.

James Hardie® Siding for Happy Valley Homes

Elite Home Exteriors NW specializes in the installation of James Hardie fiber cement siding.

Fiber cement is particularly attractive for Pacific Northwest homeowners looking for the appearance of traditional siding combined with excellent durability.

Benefits of James Hardie siding include:

Resistance to damage from moisture and rot
Resistance to pests
Noncombustible fiber cement construction
Multiple architectural styles and textures
Excellent curb appeal
Long-term manufacturer warranty protection
Lower maintenance requirements than many traditional wood siding systems

James Hardie offers siding options that can complement everything from traditional Northwest homes to newer contemporary homes throughout Happy Valley.

For additional manufacturer information, visit the official James Hardie® website.

Hidden Rot Behind Siding

One of the biggest concerns during siding replacement is what may be discovered behind the existing exterior.

Water can enter around windows, doors, penetrations, siding joints and poorly flashed transitions. Once moisture reaches vulnerable wood components behind the siding, deterioration can continue without being obvious from the outside.

When we remove the existing siding, we can inspect accessible areas of the wall assembly and identify damage that needs to be addressed before covering the home with new siding.

Depending on project conditions, this may include replacement of deteriorated sheathing and repairs to damaged framing or insulation areas.

The objective is simple:

Fix the problems behind the siding before installing the new exterior.

This is particularly important on a major siding replacement because new siding should not simply conceal existing water damage.

More Than New Siding — A Complete Exterior Water Management System

The siding itself is only one layer of your home’s exterior protection.

Behind the siding, a properly detailed water-management system plays an important role in directing incidental moisture away from vulnerable wall components.

Elite Home Exteriors NW installs premium exterior components such as:

Drainable weather-resistant barriers
Window and door flashing membranes
Z-metal flashing
Joint flashing
Proper flashing at siding transitions
Flashing around exterior penetrations
Exterior-grade sealants
Corrosion-resistant fasteners
Properly detailed siding and trim

We commonly use products such as Benjamin Obdyke HydroGap® Drainable Housewrap and HydroFlash® flashing systems when appropriate for the project.

Learn more about our weather barriers and flashing systems and why the materials behind your siding matter.

A beautiful siding installation is important.

A beautiful siding installation with a properly detailed water-management system behind it is better.

James Hardie® Siding Styles We Install

One of the advantages of James Hardie is the ability to combine siding profiles to create a more customized exterior.

HardiePlank® Lap Siding

HardiePlank lap siding provides the classic horizontal siding appearance found throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Cedarmill® offers a wood-grain appearance, while Smooth siding provides a cleaner, more contemporary exterior.

James Hardie Board and Batten Siding

Board and Batten can create a distinctive vertical appearance and works especially well on gables, entry areas and architectural accent walls.

It can also be used throughout the exterior for a modern farmhouse-inspired design.

James Hardie Shake Siding

HardieShingle® siding can add texture and architectural detail without relying on traditional cedar shakes.

We often use shake as an accent in gables or other prominent areas.

James Hardie Architectural Collection

For homeowners looking for a more contemporary exterior, James Hardie’s Architectural Collection offers modern panel textures and design possibilities.

Explore more options through our James Hardie siding contractor page.

Replacing Engineered Wood Siding in Happy Valley

Older engineered wood siding can become vulnerable when coatings fail, edges absorb moisture, or installation and flashing details allow repeated water exposure.

Signs can include swelling, deteriorating bottom edges, soft siding, delamination and rot.

Rather than continually maintaining siding that is reaching the end of its useful life, many homeowners choose a complete exterior replacement using fiber cement siding.

During replacement, removing the existing material also gives us an opportunity to inspect the wall assembly and correct accessible flashing or moisture-management problems before installing the new siding.

Replacing Cedar Siding

Cedar can provide a beautiful Northwest appearance, but it requires ongoing maintenance.

Over time, homeowners may encounter peeling coatings, cracked boards, deterioration and rot—particularly in areas that remain wet or have inadequate flashing.

For homeowners who like the appearance of wood but want a fiber cement alternative, James Hardie Cedarmill® siding can provide a traditional textured appearance without using natural wood siding throughout the exterior.

Replacing Vinyl Siding

Vinyl siding can eventually fade, crack, loosen or become damaged.

When Happy Valley homeowners want a more substantial exterior transformation, we can remove the existing vinyl siding and replace it with a properly detailed James Hardie siding system.

This also provides an opportunity to evaluate the condition of accessible materials behind the old siding rather than simply covering the existing exterior.

Our Happy Valley Siding Replacement Process

1. Exterior Evaluation

We evaluate the existing siding, trim, transitions, flashing conditions and other visible areas associated with the planned replacement.

2. Remove Existing Siding

The old exterior siding is carefully removed so we can access the underlying wall assembly.

3. Inspect for Hidden Damage

Once exposed, accessible sheathing and wall components can be inspected for signs of moisture deterioration or rot.

4. Complete Necessary Rot Repairs

Damaged materials included in the project scope are repaired or replaced before the new siding system covers the wall.

5. Install the Weather-Resistant Barrier

A quality WRB is installed and integrated with applicable flashing details.

6. Flash Windows, Doors & Transitions

Flashing membranes, Z-metal and other appropriate flashing components are installed to help manage water around vulnerable areas.

7. Install New Siding & Trim

James Hardie siding and trim are installed according to applicable manufacturer installation requirements and project specifications.

8. Seal & Detail the Exterior

Specified joints and transitions are properly detailed using compatible exterior sealants and flashing methods.

9. Professional Exterior Painting

For primed siding projects, the exterior is professionally finished using premium exterior coatings such as Sherwin-Williams® products.

10. Final Inspection & Cleanup

We complete a final project walkthrough and cleanup so you can enjoy your newly transformed exterior.

Why Happy Valley Homeowners Choose Elite Home Exteriors NW

Siding Designed for Pacific Northwest Homes

Siding in Oregon has to deal with conditions very different from homes in hot, dry climates.

A successful siding replacement needs to account for prolonged rain, seasonal moisture, wind-driven rain and the numerous openings and transitions found throughout a home’s exterior.

That’s why our approach focuses on:

Siding + WRB + flashing + trim + sealants + proper installation.

All of these components need to work together.

Our goal is to provide Happy Valley homeowners with an exterior that looks beautiful while giving careful attention to the wall system underneath it.

Working with Ian and his team was a wonderful experience. We met with a handful of companies before picking a contractor. Most spent hours mansplaining how siding works through formal presentations with imagery of worst case scenarios and reasons for why you should only work with their team. Ian listened to us, respected our time, and was very easy to work with. His team did incredible work with the siding and roofing on our house, and they went above and beyond to help us add a new covered entrance to our home. Our house feels brand new and we couldn’t be happier with it or our experience throughout this process.

Elite Home Exteriors NW is the BEST choice for siding replacement. They go beyond just installing, but provide information about Hardie product, the care of siding after the install and pro & con of choices we made. They never force options but provide expert information by which we were able to make the right choices. They have expert, skilled installers & painters who worked with us to insure a near perfect installation. I have worked with contractors for over 50 years and Elite is the most trustworthy company I have ever had business with.

Really wish we were able to give 6 stars here... Bottom Line: Elite Home Exteriors NW (Ian & the whole team) made one of the largest projects we've tackled absolutely seamless with spectacular results. We are soooo happy with how everything turned out!

Our home was built around 1920, covered in very old cedar shakes and was probably one of the more... interesting and "unique" houses this team had to work with. Nothing is square/level, exterior electrical conduit/plumbing stack everywhere, we found dry rot and missing sheathing - you know, all the fun problems. Ian convinced us (and later proved to us) that his team could handle it.

Some of the highlights of Elite's work:
- From the first meeting with Ian and getting a proposal, we knew we were getting an honest and genuine quote. He made us feel so comfortable with the project and helped us see the end result
- The quote came in and hit our budget goal, right from the get go
- The crew that came to demo and remove all the old siding were great to work with. They identified problems, notified us promptly and came up with some great solutions to resolve (dry rot, missing studs, missing sheathing)
- The same crew cleaned up every night before they left and were always ready to go first thing in the morning
- New house wrap (great house wrap by the way) and siding went up over the course of a week. We were super impressed with some of the specialized cuts they had to make!
- Later, they pressure washed the ENTIRE house (including the deck) and started caulking. The caulking in and of itself looked fantastic
- A separate painting crew came through and finished up the project ahead of schedule. The overall masking and attention to detail getting all the eaves, beams, gutters, downspouts painted went flawlessly (props to Sherwin Williams paint BTW)

Overall, what we thought was going to be a long, drawn-out and stressful project only turned out to be the exact opposite. Ian's crew(s) took just over a month to finish this two story house with detached garage. We still walk around the house every night and admire the quality of the work and reflect on just how happy we are with the whole situation. It honestly feels like a brand new house... We would HAPPILY recommend Elite Home Exteriors NW to anyone looking to tackle siding replacement and painting for their homes!

The South wall of the house had rot and cut siding from a previous connected wood deck. Ian was a pleasure to work with and a consummate professional from start to finish.
He answered detailed questions, gave me several options to fit within my budget. Ian communicated with me throughout the process, and was accommodating when I requested more detail, or a change during planning phase. His crew shows up on schedule, were friendly and courteous of my property, and cleaned up thoroughly before leaving. The job was completed quickly and within budget. The new siding and paint is an asset to this house and exceeds my expectations. I enjoyed working with Ian, and would recommend Elite Home Exteriors NW to anyone considering a siding update for their home.

Nice job by Nick and his team. I'm a realtor and needed to have a vinyl repair job done for my client. The vinyl siding was melted by long term use of a BBQ grill. Nick & crew matched the style and color perfectly. The job was done quickly, on time, and the invoice matched the quote. If you need the job done, and done correctly, call Elite Home Exteriors, they'll take care of you. Look no further!

Verified We hired Elite Home Exteriors to remove vinyl siding and replace it with Hardie lap siding. We were concerned that water may have leaked behind the vinyl siding and caused unseen damage. We got several bids and Ian's bid was not the lowest, but it was the most detailed in terms on scope of work and he offered a much better warranty than the other companies. Ian patiently answered all of my questions either verbally or by email and made me feel comfortable with his competence to do a great job for us. And he did! His crew was well-trained and paid attention to detail. The work was done well and completed in a timely manner. The workers cleaned up after they finished and did not leave any loose ends. I highly recommend Elite Home Exteriors for any siding project you may be considering.

Ian and his crew did an outstanding job replacing and painting the siding on the south side of our home. Communication was great, the job site was thoroughly cleaned, workers were efficient and courteous, and the price was toward the lower end of the six bids we obtained. Thank you, EHENW!

Needed some siding and soffit work on a 1922 aluminum siding dormer. Ian came out, looked at the project, and started the very next week. All of his workers were top notch and friendly. They even relocated a squirrel family living in our eaves. This job was done quickly and efficiently and the communication was excellent. Ian came out several times to check on the work and answer any questions we had. Their cleanup was great- just a few stray nails and debris, but that’s to be expected.
He actually fixed a couple of areas that weren’t in the scope of the project for no extra charge. The painters he subcontracted with were also wonderful.
I HIGHLY recommend Ian and his team for any of your siding needs.Couldn’t have gone smoother and I know that’s not always the case.

We invited Ian to provide an assessment and bid on some decaying wood decorative shingles on our home. From the minute he pulled up and walked around, this felt like someone I could trust. There was one area of concern that may have some rot into the house. When his team got to that section they were unsure what they would find. And to my pleasant surprise and appreciation, they found nothing. A small section that he fixed for free, not more in the bid. His team was prompt, friendly, and did an exceptional job. From preparation to final clean up, this is the type of vendor you want to have everyone emulate his professionalism, honesty, and commitment to follow up and making things right. He has earned our business for life and would recommend him to any friends, family, or neighbors.

Choose this company for you siding, you won't be sorry! The owner Ian, is far and above best contractor I have ever worked with. Excels at communication, follow up and explains everything in a friendly non-pressure way. I interviewed three other contractors, before settling on Elite. I knew I would be in good hands for this huge investment with Ian as he was genuine and sincere about providing the best result. Both the siding and the paint crew are top notch professionals, with a great work ethic and attention to detail, they are Hardie trained so you can be sure the installation was done to the highest standard and it shows! We went from ugly worn out 20 year vinyl to James Hardie siding, and the difference astounding, very very happy with what feels like a new house now.

Ian Vidovic is the owner/manager of Elite Home Exteriors, and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have accepted his bid for replacing the hardi-plank siding on an exterior wall of our house in Camas, Washington. Our house is on Prune Hill, and the eastern wall faces the onslaught of the Gorge winds and its rain, snow, and ice storms. Long-term damage in our 22-year old house included dry rot all the way to the studs. Ian's bid was not only reasonable, but his word was bond. His crews came on time, as promised. The demolition was completed in one day. The replacement siding in another day. The wall was pressure-washed and painted by a professional crew. Ian was honest, communicative, and very personable. He is the BEST contractor we have ever employed, and we highly recommend him and his company. Stephen Chipps & Laura Sherrill

Ian did incredible work for my clients and I!! I am a real estate broker and it's so difficult to find a siding company that can work within the timing constraints of a real estate transaction. Ian did! In the inspection period, it was discovered that my client's soon-to-be-home had siding that was completely failing. Ian went out same day to take a look and provided a quick and accurate quote a few hours later. Not only was his pricing reasonable, but he was able to get the siding job completed before the close of the transaction. My clients have moved into their freshly sided home and are eager for Spring so they can work with Ian to paint it!! He was so communicative and friendly throughout the process. I will be calling him for my own home and recommending him to clients as well! 10/10!

I would definitely recommend calling Ian at Elite Home Exteriors NW. He is a certified Hardi Plank installer. We unfortunately hired another company to save a couple thousand dollars. (Small HOA, I was out numbered) I really wanted to hire him for several reasons. They are Elite Preferred Installers and definitely deserve and have earned the title. Ian was so helpful and knowledgeable when we were getting estimates for the job. Even though we used a different siding company, he was kind enough to come and inspect the job after installation and before painting!.
So thankful he did this for us!
He found a piece of Z metal flashing was completely missing on top of a trim board. These details are so important! And something a layman like us, are just not going to notice. He also pointed out how thin the caulking line is. I noticed it was not a nice pretty, straight, clean line. Definitely makes sense that it should be thicker. He also would have replaced the old plastic vents with a newer type that birds can't get into and build their own little homes. Which makes perfect sense! When your replacing 26 year old siding you should upgrade vents also.
I really can't express how much I appreciate all of Ian's help. I would highly recommend hiring him for your Hardie Plank installation. He knows the product and installation process very well and has a sharp eye for details. Which is really what you want and need when spending thousands on siding.

Thank you Ian! Thank you so much for all of your help.

My home has a fairly complex exterior, and we were looking to re-side the home as we were dealing with constant issues of water intrusion.

I was searching the greater Portland/Vancouver area for Siding Contractors for Hardie Siding, as we really just wanted something that would hold up against the elements and protect us in the case of any nearby fires (we’re close to some woods). After meeting Ian from Elite Home Exteriors, we decided to go with him and we couldn’t have been happier that we decided to go with him as out Siding Contractor. We had additional problems from the water damage too, and the folks he recommended were also top notch.

Ian and team are a James Hardie Elite Preferred Siding Contractor, which means basically that he’s passed the highest certification for installing James Hardie siding products. I would work with him again, but based on his fit and finish, I probably won’t need to! Thanks Ian!

I have to say, Ian has been a joy to work with.

He is professional, thoroughly helpful, knowledgeable, and detail focused. His standards for fit and finish meant that the job is done right the first time… which is not something I can say for every siding contractor I’ve ever worked with.

For what it’s worth, Ian is a James Hardie Elite Preferred Siding Contractor, which means he has passed the highest standards of how to properly and beautifully install James Hardie siding products. Hardie siding is a pretty great fit for the northwest, as it resists both water AND fire… I am frankly relieved by no longer having to worry about water intrusion after the great job that Ian and Elite Home Exteriors did on our home. I would absolutely work with them again.

Working with Ian and his company was an absolute pleasure. I currently own 2 homes and have had 3 previous houses, so I’ve had experience with many contractors over the last 20 years and most are not good. My husband and I had a water intrusion issue (undisclosed to us during a house purchase) that we subsequently discovered for ourselves 6 months later in the rainy season. After meeting with many contactors to figure out how to execute the repair, we decided that their prices were outrageous even for just a patch job and we decided to do the right thing and replace all the wood siding with Hardie plank. My husband found Ian online, and we met with him. He is excellent at communication, through emails/text and/or phone calls. He was always pleasant to meet with and didn’t talk to me as if I was a dumb homeowner, which happens quite a bit in this industry. He was happy to answer all my questions and work with us on a documented design for adding architectural details so there was no questions on how the job would look. He and his crew were always punctual and professional. They finished the job ahead of schedule and did everything promised. Honestly, the water intrusion situation was very stressful, but Ian made it a pleasure to get resolved. I am so happy that we went with him and have had excellent results. My high-strung HOA was even happy about his work and gave us a compliment. I wholeheartedly recommend him, and I would be happy to talk to anyone wanting a reference about our pleasant experience. It isn’t every day that such a huge job is completed with such ease and professionalism. I 100% recommend working with Ian and Elite Home Exteriors NW – you won’t be disappointed!

My husband and I had a water intrusion issue (undisclosed to us during a house purchase) that we subsequently discovered for ourselves 6 months later in the rainy season. After meeting with many contactors to figure out how to execute the repair, we decided that their prices were outrageous even for just a patch job and we decided to do the right thing and replace all the wood siding with ***********************. My husband found *** online, and we met with him. He is excellent at communication, through emails/text and/or phone calls. He was always pleasant to meet with and didnt talk to me as if I was a dumb homeowner, which happens quite a bit in this industry. He was happy to answer all my questions and work with us on a documented design for adding architectural details so there was no questions on how the job would look. He and his crew were always punctual and professional. They finished the job ahead of schedule and did everything promised. Honestly, the water intrusion situation was very stressful, but *** made it a pleasure to get resolved. I am so happy that we went with him and have had excellent results. My high-strung HOA was even happy about his work and gave us a compliment. I wholeheartedly recommend him, and I would be happy to talk to anyone wanting a reference about our pleasant experience. It isnt every day that such a huge job is completed with such ease and professionalism. I 100% recommend working with *** and Elite Home Exteriors NW you wont be disappointed!

Glad I hired Ian and his team to replace siding on the south-facing side of my house. Communication with Ian throughout project was as good as any contractor I've worked with. The work was done well, went smoothly, just what you want. Also glad to see them not show up in expensive vehicle wrapped graphics, etc that the customer pays for. I'll have more siding to do on my house and will hire them again.

Work performed - Independent Siding Consultation and Detailed Work Estimate

We contacted Ian V. at Elite Home Exteriors NW after searching online for a specialist siding contractor and then speaking to his father in WA while Ian was on a family vacation… he came to quote promptly upon his return, for a very large exterior home renovation project. The bid came from Ian quickly, following a thorough walk-through inspection and in great detail, and was several thousand dollars less than 2 other bids we’d received for exactly the same scope of work.

Although we chose to use another company to work with, Ian remained gracious, asked some great questions to remain involved with our decisions, and even came and visited the work site to consult after siding work had started (and framing/shiplap was exposed to assess damage and advise). He wanted to ensure that although we weren’t employing his company, that his competitor wasn’t missing anything that would jeopardize the success of the overall project and that we could feel confident in our discussions with them when the time came to discuss details of the repair process. When asked about compensation for this service, he graciously declined, gave us his ideas and thoughts so we could remain entirely informed, and confident of the work being performed. He remained available as an independent resource. We know there are a lot of choices to make when renovating a home, and although we didn’t use Elite in this occasion, we feel extremely lucky to have met Ian and look forward to working with them in some capacity in the future. Incidentally, he connected us to his roofing colleagues who replaced our roof and our experience with them was second to none… the pair are a real class act.
Wholeheartedly recommend contacting them, allowing them to bid on work and discussion expectations, as they are very experienced in quite unorthodox situations relating to siding repair, replacement and dry rot arising from compromised stucco and EFIS.
We honestly can’t thank Ian & his team enough for caring (unequivocally) for us from the outset.

We used Ian to repair the dry rot on our current home. He was extremely responsive and his team did a high quality job. We then asked him to look at the siding on our new home and he came the following day! Wouldn't trust our siding work to anyone else.

I chose to contract the team at Elite Home Exteriors NW to replace my siding as they had a fair price and provided a detail guide of materials, process and standards. They exceeded my expectations by finishing work early, were quick to communicate, did a fantastic job of replacing the siding and the team that did the install were friendly and helpful. I would solidly recommend Elite Home Exteriors!

We hired Elite to replace our 90 year old cedar shingle with Hardie siding (10 inch reveal + board/batten). They also replaced our gutters and painted the house.

From start to finish, Ian and Nick were a pleasure to deal with. We closely compared their bid to another contractor and decided to go with them even though they were marginally more expensive as they added more value during the sales process to our decision making and it felt like their bid was "more inclusive". The work itself was done to a very high quality and any issues were resolved quickly and fairly. As part of the siding work, we found some significant dry rot in our sill plate and rim joist on one corner. Elite took this repair work on for a very reasonable cost and ensured it didn't impact the overall schedule. Elite were also very flexible when our requirements changed for certain sections during the process and when there was a cost differential it was always very reasonable.

I would strongly recommend Elite to anyone, we are delighted with the finished product and have had many positive comments from neighbours and passers-by.

Superior service. - Elite Home Exteriors was amazing. Definitely the largest renovation I’ve ever done my to my house and the team took care of me the entire way. They were always responsive and always took the time to answer all my questions. They even completed the project ahead of schedule! All I had to do was sit back and wait. We hired Elite Home Exteriors to replace the siding on the back of our house with James Hardie Sierra 8" fiber cement as the old T1-11 siding was showing its age. The rest of the T1-11 siding on the house looked good so we opted to leave it in place except for one section where a previous owner had cut through the siding to install a dog door. We had this additional section replaced with matching T1-11 siding. After the siding was installed/replaced we had Elite Home Exteriors paint the house as well.

I felt like we were in good hands throughout the entire process. Ian was very helpful guiding us through the process from start to finish and very quick to respond to any questions we had along the way. The crews that worked on the house were great and answered even more questions I had the days the work was being done.
The siding looks great. The paint job looks great. These guys know what they are doing.

Ian and Nick did a great job on our bungalow downtown. It was a full siding replacement, roof, and paint job. It was a big job. We got six quotes because we were interested in repairing the original siding under the outer layers. We eventually realized this wasn't feasible because there wasn't any barrier under the original siding - not even paper which does exist on some early 1900s houses. Ian was great at listening to our requirements and just as good at getting his team to implement them. We are very happy with the work they did and would highly recommend them. Simply put, after getting all the quotes it was clear Ian understood what we wanted when he put it in writing. More importantly it was all delivered at the cost that was in the quote. I'd highly recommend this company to anyone.

We worked with Elite Home Exteriors NW for both replacing our roof and refreshing our exterior paint. Ian and all of his crew were incredibly great to work with, staying communicative along the whole process from start to finish and being flexible with their schedules! Additionally, they took extra measures to ensure the outcome of those projects (i.e. pressuring washing the entire house, cleaning up gutters, and fixing/replacing broken siding). Both projects went along without a hitch and our home looks brand new (and AMAZING). Quality products, quality service, but more importantly…quality people who take great pride in the services they provide. I highly recommend them to anyone needing to replace or upgrade their homes. It was a brilliant experience and couldn’t be more thankful for hiring them.

This project was a complete Hardi residing of a two story house with complicated roof lines and many windows. The siding work was completed in November and final paint in March '21 (due to our typical Vancouver WA rainy weather moving in for the season!). The final result is excellent! Both teams, siding and paint, were meticulous and focused on the finer details. They were a pleasure to work with. From initial quotes through to regular updates during the project, communication was responsive and thorough. Ian, co-owner and customer facing rep, was a pleasure to work with and his customer focused attention was exceptional. I highly recommend Elite Home Exteriors NW. They are experts and top of the class in this business.

Frequently Asked Questions About Siding Replacement in Happy Valley, OR

What is the best siding for homes in Happy Valley, Oregon?

There isn’t one siding material that’s right for every homeowner, but we frequently recommend James Hardie fiber cement siding for Happy Valley homes because of its durability, design options, resistance to damage from moisture and rot, and suitability for demanding exterior environments.

Is James Hardie siding good for Oregon’s rainy climate?

James Hardie fiber cement siding is designed to resist damage from moisture when installed and maintained correctly. Just as importantly, we focus on the WRB, flashing and exterior details behind and around the siding to create a complete exterior system.

How much does siding replacement cost in Happy Valley?

Siding replacement pricing depends on the size and design of the home, existing siding material, demolition requirements, siding style, trim package, access, paint specifications and the amount of underlying damage discovered.

The best way to determine the investment required for your particular home is to schedule an exterior evaluation and siding replacement estimate.

Can you repair dry rot discovered behind my siding?

Yes. Rot repair is frequently part of larger siding replacement projects. Once the existing siding is removed, accessible damaged sheathing or framing can be evaluated and addressed as necessary before the new exterior is installed.

Our focus is primarily on complete siding replacement and larger exterior renovation projects, rather than isolated small siding or trim repairs.

Do you replace engineered wood siding?

Yes. We regularly replace aging and deteriorated engineered wood siding with modern siding systems, including James Hardie fiber cement siding.

Do you install Board and Batten siding in Happy Valley?

Yes. James Hardie Board and Batten is a popular option for homeowners looking for a vertical siding design. It can be installed throughout the exterior or combined with lap siding and shake accents.

Does Elite Home Exteriors NW offer a siding workmanship warranty?

Yes. We provide our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty on qualifying siding installations. You can review additional information on our Siding Warranty page.

Where can I learn more before replacing my siding?

Visit our Siding FAQ for answers to common questions about siding replacement, James Hardie products, installation, warranties and exterior remodeling.
