Description
Wood Siding Replacement Project in Camas, WA
This Camas, WA home was in need of a full siding upgrade after the original engineered wood siding—part of a well-known class action lawsuit—began to fail and allow moisture intrusion. Like many homes in the Pacific Northwest, hidden damage had developed beneath the surface.
Our team at Elite Home Exteriors NW performed a complete siding removal and discovered sub-wall rot that needed immediate attention. We carefully repaired all compromised areas to restore the structural integrity of the home before moving forward with the new installation.
To ensure long-term protection against moisture, we installed HydroGap Drainable House Wrap, creating a proper drainage plane, along with HydroFlash Membrane around all windows and doors for superior waterproofing in our wet Northwest climate.
For the new exterior, the homeowner chose pre-primed James Hardie Cedarmill 7” Lap Siding, paired with Rustic James Hardie 5/4” corner boards, window trim, and door trim. This combination delivers a timeless woodgrain look with the unmatched durability of fiber cement—perfect for homes in Camas and the greater Southwest Washington area.
The project was finished with a professional paint application using Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint in a modern light gray body with crisp white accents. The final result is a clean, updated exterior that not only boosts curb appeal but also provides long-lasting protection against the elements.
