Description
Multi-Family Siding Restoration Project – Milwaukie, OR
This multi-family townhouse project in Milwaukie, Oregon involved a full exterior restoration after years of moisture intrusion caused by failing vinyl siding. Elite Home Exteriors NW began by removing the existing vinyl siding, which had allowed water penetration over time and resulted in significant rot to the sub-wall sheathing.
All damaged areas were carefully repaired to restore the structural integrity of the building before new materials were installed. To improve long-term moisture management, we applied WeatherSmart® Drainable House Wrap and integrated FortiFlash® membrane flashing at all critical transitions, windows, and doors to properly direct water away from the structure.
The exterior was upgraded with James Hardie® 7″ Lap Siding across the main elevations, complemented by James Hardie Cedarmill® 5″ Lap siding in the gables for added texture and visual interest. We installed James Hardie trim throughout, including porch posts, to create clean, durable lines, along with James Hardie soffit panels to complete the exterior envelope.
All siding, trim, and soffits were finished using Sherwin-Williams® SuperPaint, providing excellent durability, color retention, and protection against the Pacific Northwest climate.
The completed project delivered a fully restored, low-maintenance exterior that not only improved the building’s appearance but also addressed long-standing moisture issues—ensuring long-term performance and protection for this Milwaukie multi-family property.
