Once the exterior was prepared, we installed WeatherSmart® Drainable House Wrap across the building.

A drainable weather-resistive barrier provides an important secondary layer of protection behind the siding. Rather than relying solely on the exterior siding to stop moisture, the WRB helps manage incidental water that may get behind the cladding while protecting the underlying wall assembly.

We incorporated Z-metal flashing at required horizontal transitions and above appropriate exterior components.

Z-flashing helps shed water outward and away from the wall rather than allowing moisture to collect behind siding or trim.

Lap Joint Flashing Behind Siding Butt Joints

We also installed lap joint flashing behind the siding butt joints.

Correct caulking placement is just as important as the product itself. Our goal is to seal the locations requiring sealant while maintaining the drainage paths necessary for the exterior wall system to manage water properly.

After the James Hardie siding and trim installation was completed, the entire exterior received a professional Sherwin-Williams SuperPaint® exterior paint finish.

Using pre-primed James Hardie siding followed by a high-quality field-applied paint system gave the SERVPRO building a clean, uniform appearance while adding another layer of protection to the new fiber cement exterior.
