Upgrades with Hardie® Siding to help save wildfire destruction

In a recent blog post by James Hardie, a Colorado homeowner shares how her decision to upgrade her 35-year-old home with James Hardie® fiber cement fire resistant siding not only improved its appearance and deterred pests, but ultimately helped save it during the devastating Stone Canyon wildfire. Despite the intense blaze destroying much of the surrounding area, her home—protected by James Hardie® Siding Fire Resistant—remained standing, demonstrating the product’s resilience and fire resistance. The noncombustible siding, which carries a Class A fire rating, proved to be a critical factor in preserving the structure.

Why It Matters for Homeowners in Portland and Vancouver:

For residents of Portland, Oregon and Vancouver, Washington—areas increasingly affected by wildfire threats due to changing climate conditions—this story underscores the importance of fire-resistant building materials. James Hardie® siding not only enhances curb appeal and minimizes pest damage (ideal for wooded neighborhoods), but also provides an added layer of protection in wildfire-prone regions. Upgrading to this durable siding can be a smart investment for long-term home safety, peace of mind, and preserving property value in the face of growing environmental risks.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ian and his crew did an outstanding job replacing and painting the siding on the south side of our home. Communication was great, the job site was thoroughly cleaned, workers were efficient and courteous, and the price was toward the lower end of the six bids we obtained. Thank you, EHENW!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Choose this company for you siding, you won't be sorry! The owner Ian, is far and above best contractor I have ever worked with. Excels at communication, follow up and explains everything in a friendly non-pressure way. I interviewed three other contractors, before settling on Elite. I knew I would be in good hands for this huge investment with Ian as he was genuine and sincere about providing the best result. Both the siding and the paint crew are top notch professionals, with a great work ethic and attention to detail, they are Hardie trained so you can be sure the installation was done to the highest standard and it shows! We went from ugly worn out 20 year vinyl to James Hardie siding, and the difference astounding, very very happy with what feels like a new house now.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ian Vidovic is the owner/manager of Elite Home Exteriors, and we consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have accepted his bid for replacing the hardi-plank siding on an exterior wall of our house in Camas, Washington. Our house is on Prune Hill, and the eastern wall faces the onslaught of the Gorge winds and its rain, snow, and ice storms. Long-term damage in our 22-year old house included dry rot all the way to the studs. Ian's bid was not only reasonable, but his word was bond. His crews came on time, as promised. The demolition was completed in one day. The replacement siding in another day. The wall was pressure-washed and painted by a professional crew. Ian was honest, communicative, and very personable. He is the BEST contractor we have ever employed, and we highly recommend him and his company. Stephen Chipps & Laura Sherrill

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had the pleasure of working with Ian Vidovic to discuss our home siding project, and I couldn't be more impressed! Ian's expertise is truly unmatched. He took the time to explain various cost-saving options, ensuring that we didn’t feel pressured into making any long-term decisions before we were ready. His honesty, kindness, and deep knowledge of his craft gave us complete confidence in our choices. It's rare to find someone in this industry who genuinely cares about the client's needs above all else. If you're looking for a siding expert who is both skilled and trustworthy, I highly recommend Ian. Thank you, Ian, for your exceptional service!
