Panel Style T1-11 James HardiePlank Siding

Posted on by Elite Home Exteriors NW

James Hardie Vertical Panel Fiber Cement Siding

James Hardie makes 4’x8’ and 4”x9’ panel siding to be similar to traditional wood or LP Louisiana Pacific style siding. Many new construction homes are built with Lap (vertical Siding) on the front and T1-11 panel on the sides and back of the home. Why? Because T1-11 does NOT require a subwall (Plywood underneath the siding) it’s used as both a sheathing as well as siding. Lap siding requires plywood (Or OSB sheathing) for structural support.

Lucky, James Hardie made a similar product. This helps for only needing to replace one or 1 of the 3 walls. Some homeowners like the look of the Vertical Panel T1-11 style siding instead of Lap siding.

You can also use Hardie Panel as an accent design in gables, kick outs, dormers, bays and more areas.
